Directed by Tim Slusarczyk, “A Bit Different” finds both veteran emcees reintroducing themselves to an audience that has been pining for new music since their critically acclaimed release of One Uppers. Presented over Sapient production that has definite head-nod appeal, braggadocios vocals allow for energetic visuals and a chemistry between Luckyiam and Sapient reminiscent of duos from the golden age of hip-hop. Through the Mic is a new concert series at LACMA that explores contemporary Los Angeles hip hop, with an emphasis on the diversity of L.A.-based artists. Co-curated by LACMA and hip hop artist Murs, concerts will take place in front of artist Chris Burden’s iconic Urban Lightsculpture on the third Thursday of every month, May through October 2012.
